Zeke and I have been exchanging emails for the last 2 years. Our discussions are always about saving money by installing Solar PV systems. We both know that it is a reality that you can save money building your own systems. As he mentioned you can find just about anything you are looking to buy on the Internet. Many companies have gone belly up because of the economy. Feel free to post your comments on this blog. We are always willing to help you with getting your own system going.

Fact especially about the solar clean energy myth. It is not really a myth, at all, but as Jerry points out. A wall of the real truth is being kept from the people would otherwise engage in solar power for their homes.
Several people Jerry and I are in constant contact with have built our own solar systems from scratch and re very happy with the results. Not only the money we save every month, but the fact we are helping to clean up the atmosphere.
A little back ground first to prove it can be done, for at least from 1/4 to 1/3rd less for the same amount of kilowatts. My electric bill normally this time of year here in Florida, runs appx. $160 per month .without air conditioning. The last 3 months my bill has run around $45 and kept the bills to keep track, and would be willing to show anyone interested, in a DIY project. Now I only have 2200 watts now and need to add another kV to my system. So the bill should be almost zero
Now back to why it cost so much to build a solar system. As Jerry points out, it is the middle man. But in this case the middle man is uncle sugar. (Read Uncle Sam). In 1011 he took millions and gave to 3 different cell manufacturing company's that had already filed for chapter 11.
Now all these millions of unsold PV cells are sitting in some warehouse doing no one any good whatever. Why don't, because we own them, the give them to the home owners who want to go solar. What a savings it would be. Next, the associated equipment that is needed to go with the system is over priced by about 200%.
See how our govt. promised huge rebates if the home owner would go solar. I buy almost new equipment from people all over the country, that are in foreclose, because uncle sugar didn't full fill his promise, and the payments on the solar system plus the house payment sunk them. They rip the new system out and sell it for whatever they can get before the bank takes it house and all.
Im not whistling Dixie here, we who have built know what it really cost. Now the next big thing uncle sugar has, and is doing id discouraging everyone to not go solar. Why? It takes energy to produce electricity. So the oil company has lobbyists making sure that we have to buy their oil in one form or the other.
Another now-you-see-it and now- you- don't. If after being foolish enough for the homeowner to go ahead buying or building a system, it can cost anywhere from $25 thousand to $30 thousand to install. Why, because the installer sells you on the idea of selling back power to the electric company. The fact is this, and urge you to checkout some of theses facts. You pay around $50 cents per kW from the company, but if you reverse the meter and put energy back into the grid. They pay you only $ 4 cents a kW???
Your not in the power business, they are...so forget selling power. Build or buy a around a 4 kW system instead a 30 kW system and ill any day and so will Jerry sell you everything you need for a total of this. This is not a sales pitch, we don't need it. Im saying we can. They don't tell you how much you can save buy buying materials from home depot or lowers... another scams the jokers selling how- to DVD,S and books.
I was looking at one the other day and it was so far out in left field the writer had the polarity wrong between the blue side (sunny side) and down side of the cells. This note is meant for information. Do not hesitate to contact Jerry at jbsnet@jbsnet.com or me at musicsteelman20@aol.com. We will set you straight and give you straight answers. Thanks for taking the time to read this, zeke Thomas solar/wind energy's of Florida

Here is a comment from a guy in South Florida that has decided to cut his power bills!
jerry as you know I've already dropped my electric bill down from over $150 to $47 last month. and I only have half the panels i need, I'm only putting out 2200 watts and need about 4kv..I'm surprised more guys that are at least a little capable don't do what you and i do, build their own.. if the country, and the us govt. were really serious, the prices would come way down, so the average family could more afford to go solar or wind....zeke

I’m currently writing content about the benefits and installation of geothermal energy. I was wondering if you’d be interested in some content.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Like anything else, local codes, city, or state may effect your build process. If you live in the country or rural area then codes may not effect you as much. My main concern would be insurance coverage. I know that in some areas if your panels don't have a UL sticker on them, then there is a risk of your house not having coverage. Thoughts to think about!

certainly like your web site but you have to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I to find it very bothersome to inform the truth however I will definitely come again again.
